In 2023 I focused a lot on acclimating to my new job, staying in nature as much as time would allow, became a more mature parent, made some new friends, said goodbye to some bad habits, and welcomed some new stuff into my life. The one glaring thing I did not resolve this year is my relationship with the restaurant business. I still harbor a lot of apprehension and fear around the idea of ever being active in that space again, yet it is a constant thought for me, with no shortage of opportunities. The idea generator in my brain doesn’t stop, so I feel fortunate that my more pragmatic side is also finding a voice to bring some balance. I’ll probably write quite a bit more on this some day, but not for awhile.
Among the changes for 2023 was my commitment to this Substack, which has been very rewarding. I look forward to the practice of writing again, and sharing my randomness with you. The support has been amazing and continues to grow literally every single day. Words can’t describe how grateful I am for that. I’m having more fun with this medium than I initially thought I would. Thank you for that! But now, its time for some change…
